Also online, J’s MySpace website, www.myspace.com/jholiday is previewing four songs from the album “Bed,” “Be With Me” (an earlier single, whose video is also up at the site), “Don’t Wanna Lose,” and the title tune, “Back Of My Lac’.” The four songs, averaging over 70,000 plays per day, have accumulated over 4 million total plays at the site, which is filled with everything-you-always-wanted-to-know about J. Holiday. It has become a blogger’s delight with more than 1,100 comments and photos from fans posted to date.
J. Holiday, signed to the Music Line Group/Capitol Records roster, joins prestigious company with his chart milestones. Janet Jackson was the first to log MIP’s on all three charts in the same week with “All For You” in March 2001, followed five months later by her brother Michael’s “You Rock My World.” “Bed” also entered the Urban AC chart at #24, the highest debut by a new act since 1995, when Pure Soul entered at #24 with “We Must Be In Love.” On the Rhythmic Airplay chart, it is again the top Airplay Gainer, moving #12 to #10; and on the Billboard Hot 100, it jumps to #11-bullet (from #15) on a 56% sales spike, and is Airplay Gainer of the week for the second week running.
“Bed” was written by The Dream (credit: Rihanna’s “Umbrella”) and was produced by Los Da Mystro (aka Carlos ‘L.O.S.’ McKinney, whose credits include Faith, Chris Brown, Whitney Houston, Usher). J’s talents as a singer and songwriter and the autobiographic flav of his tunes found sympathetic support from the producers on BACK OF MY LAC’, who include hitmaker Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, McKinney, and Music Line’s Ciara and Teairra Mari.
